In 1851, he lived with his parents at 38 Jameson Bridge Street. Can you tell me, please, whether that address is the site of a residence that would have been there in that census year? His father was a cabinet maker: Robert Chamberlin. His mother was Eliza Barker Chamberlin, daughter (according to one secondary source) of a tavern keeper. Census information lists her birthplace as Tealby, very near Market Rasen. Their first child, Humphrey Barker Chamberlin, was born in Manchester. My 7xgreatgrandfather George Naylor (b. 1655 Yorks; d. 1734 Maryland) went to the American colony of Maryland in 1668 with George Cole of Grantham. George Cole was the son of Henry Cole of Grantham, who went to Maryland in 1663. Henry paid for my ancestor's passage as well as for his own son George Cole. I believe that Henry Cole's father was once mayor/alderman of Grantham. I don't know why Henry went to Maryland or why he paid for my ancestor George Naylor (a young boy from W. Yorks) to go. My grandfather Charles Wilfred Crow/e was born in approx 1895 in South Reston Lincolnshire. His father was John Crowe and mother Ede Thompson. Pop had a number of brothers. The 1901 Census shows John aged 10, Arthur aged 2 and Alfred aged 2 months (Charles was 6 years). They are shown as living at 35 South Road, South Reston. Charles was a member of the 1st Life Guards serving in Mons during World War 1. He married Daisy Bishop at Whittelsey, Cambridgeshire in December 1922 before sailing to Australia, arriving in January 1923. On 12 November 1798 my ancestor James Jarve married Happelonia Saille in St Johns Church, Stamford. They were both of that parish according to the Parish Record. However in the 1841 census they had moved to Manchester where James was described as a Dyer having been born in Scotland. At that time they were Methodists. Pedley and Sharp. Great grandmother Annie Elizabeth Sharp (née Pedley) was married to Robert Sharp, a butcher. They lived at 42 James Street, Louth. They had 2 children, Ralph and Marjorie (24/01/1926). After returning from the war Robert left his family and stopped all contact. Annie Sharp's mother was called Elizabeth. She had 4 children (one married and became Caborn). Elizabeth's husband ran Stead and Simpson, Louth. After his death their son Henry Pedley took over the business. In 1845 he married SABINA RANDALL ,(born Coningsby 1822). They had 11 children: Ann, Edward, William, Fred, Tom Elizabeth, Mary, Celia, Samuel, Harriet and Charles. Their grandson, George Arthur Doolin, was born in the workhouse in Sibsey in 1874, and, like Arthur Towle (mother Riley), went on the stage in Boston at the age of 14, in "The Minstrel Show", as "Brudder Bones". He performed in variety until the First World War. His aunt, Mary Doughty Sharp, married Alfred Mawer, so there was also a remote family connection to Arthur Towle.
